Lakewood Forest Shows Our Military Members Some Hometown Love

Military Service Members Get Care Packages from Home
Once again, Lakewood Forest has shown its generosity in taking care of our active-duty military members who are away from family and friends this holiday season. The Lakewood Forest Civic Association prepared “care” packages for six service members in the U.S. and abroad. Several residents were very generous in their donations of cash and items to fill the boxes.
Here are this year’s package recipients.
First Lieutenant Chris Harmon grew up on Laneview Drive and graduated from Cy Creek in 2017 and U of H in 2021.  He is currently serving in the Army medical corps in Washington state.  His parents are Jay and Monica Harmon.
Airman First Class Collin Drew graduated in 2018 from Thompkins High School in Katy before moving to Lakewood Forest with parents Diana Sullivan and Glenn Sullivan. Collin attended Lonestar Community College obtaining his associate degree while working full time at Kroger on Grant and Louetta. Collin began his Air Force career on June 14, 2022 (Flag Day) and is now stationed in New Mexico. Aim High A1C Drew!
Staff Sergeant Russell Musthaler grew up in Lakewood Forest, attending Moore Elementary, Hamilton MS, and Cy-Creek HS. He joined the Air Force in 2017. Currently stationed at Nellis AFB in Nevada, he is preparing to spend the next year in South Korea. Russell is the son of Brian and Linda Musthaler.
Captain Kyle Harris is with the Air Force and now living in Philadelphia, PA. He is a pilot, flying refueling planes. His parents are Alicia Smith and Carl Thompson.
Army Specialist Jason Cook is currently serving in Germany. Now 24, he graduated from Tomball Memorial HS. He is the son of Jason and Angie Cook.

Senior Airman Lawson Mear has been in the Air Force since 2019.  He was most recently on deployment in Qatar, and is currently stationed at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, FL.  He graduated from Cy-Creek High School in 2017.

Godspeed to these fine young men who all volunteered to serve their country at great sacrifice to themselves and their families.

Lakewood Forest Communitywide Garage Sale - November 10, 11 and 12, 2023

Clean out the closets and bring out your stuff! It's time for the communitywide garage sale going on throughout the subdivision. You host your own sale on your property. The Civic Association will put out banners to advertise the event. We recommend you put out directional signs to let shoppers know where to find your sale.

It's that time again to declutter and unearth hidden treasures! The semi-annual Lakewood Forest Community Garage Sale is just around the corner, and we invite you to join in on the excitement. People from all over northwest Houston love to come and shop at our neighborhood garage sales. They know Lakewood Forest always has a community sale, and they really look forward to it.
Here are the details you need to know:
Dates: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, April 5, 6 & 7.
You decide the days and hours for your personal sale on your property. As a resident, you're encouraged to contribute to the buzz by placing your own directional signs during the sale weekend. A vibrant "garage sale" sign with your address at major cross streets works wonders—just ensure they're secured with stones, not staked in esplanades, and never attached to stop signs.
To maximize your sale's visibility, experienced sellers recommend registering on this app: https://gsalr.com.
The Lakewood Forest Civic Association (LFCA) will promote the community sale online and through banners and signs within the subdivision.
Remember, your responsibility doesn't end with the sale. Please promptly remove your signs and ensure a tidy cleanup at the conclusion of your sale. Let's work together to maintain the beauty of Lakewood Forest!

Community Wide Spring Garage Sale

March 24-26, 2023

Hold your own garage sale at your home during your preferred hours. The Civic Association will advertise the event to surrounding communities to attract shoppers. Please put out your own directional signage, but don't put stakes in the ground in common areas like esplanades. Use signs attached to boxes to prevent damage to underground sprinkler systems.
