Empty the attic and clean out the closets! It’s time once again for the semi-annual Lakewood Forest Community Garage Sale!

If you plan to have a fall garage sale, this is a good time to hold it, as garage sale enthusiasts from all over northwest Houston come to shop one sale after another in our neighborhood. Shoppers know that Lakewood Forest holds a community sale and they look forward to it.

The community sale runs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 11, 12 and 13. You choose which days and hours you want to operate your sale on your own property.

This activity is sponsored by the Lakewood Forest Civic Association. The LFCA will advertise the community event through various online avenues and with banners and signs around the subdivision.

Residents are highly encouraged to put out their own directional signage the weekend of the sale, such as a bright “garage sale” sign with your own address, placed at major cross streets. Please be courteous when you put out your signs—don’t place staked signs in the esplanades and don’t post anything on stop signs. Posters on boxes held in place with stones is a good approach for your personal signage. Also, experienced sellers recommend registering your sale on this app:  https://gsalr.com.

You are responsible for removing your signs and cleaning up your trash at the end of your sale. Please keep Lakewood Forest beautiful!

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes
community partnerships with first responders and neighborhood camaraderie.

Join us and meet your local first responders, including our very own Lakewood Forest Precinct 4 Constables. Watch and learn from our K9 and CERT demos. With so many emergency vehicles for the kids to explore, your kids are sure to enjoy seeing all the bells and whistles on the fire truck and ambulance.  We’ll have an even bigger inflatable playground this year for the kiddos too! While the kids are playing, relax and listen to the live band playing “All your favorites” starting at 5pm. Enjoy some street tacos and dessert on us. Tacos will be served at 5:30pm. Don’t forget your drink tickets when you sign in so you can enjoy a couple of adult beverages. Karbach Brewing Company and Paradigm Brewing have graciously donated alcoholic beverages for our community event. Bring your own chair or blanket to spread out on the lawn. This event is sure to be fun for the entire family. We hope to see you all there!
